The individualized major in Publication & Culture focused on the interrelation of text, image, and culture. Culture, or the customary and shared features of everyday life and groups of people, not only influences visual communications but is also influenced by them. Therefore, the courses for this major instructed in the use of text and image and also examined the ways in which culture is influenced by text and image and the ways in which text and image are influenced by culture. Through both the application of skills and the understanding of context, this major thoroughly prepared the student for any number of print communication careers.
